I found this ginormous poster depicting Peak Oil over at an educational website appropriately named, PeakOil.org.
You can order your own physical copy for $12.50, or enjoy it online while spreading the message.
From the website: “The poster’s main chart features a year-by-year rendering of worldwide oil production from 1859 to 2050 with projections of future production based on Colin Campbell’s Oil Depletion Model.”
Warning, the picture is 1567px × 1045px, which means you need a big monitor to see it all…

So where do you stand on the peak oil concept? I ask because some people, call them conspiracy theorists if you like, say that the peal oil idea is a scam to make excuses for higher prices and more drilling etc.

If only conspiracies were so easy to pull off…
I for one believe in the long-term supply and demand relationships that exist with commodities. If more people around the world are using more oil, natgas, or whatever, the price goes up.
I also believe that supply runs out at some point. Will it be as close as the current projections suggest? There are compelling arguments on both sides… The argument for later would include deeper sea drilling, oil sands, and oil shale.
